IS THIS CERTIFICATE THE SAME AS THE CCS AND CCS-P CERTIFICATES OFFERED BY AHIMA?

Students will learn about the CCA, CCS and CCS-P credentials and examinations during the Medical Records Coding Certificate Program (MCOD400) and during the Health Information Coding Certificate Program.  The CCA (Certified Coding Associate), the CCS (Certified Coding Specialist - Hospital), and the CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist - Physician) are separate credentials offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

ARE THESE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS LICENSED?

Yes, Central Business School certificate programs are licensed by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.  Central Business School certificates have been accepted by employers throughout the world for over 14 years.

ARE CENTRAL BUSINESS SCHOOL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS ACCREDITED?

No, Central Business School certificate programs are not accredited.

When comparing educational programs, notice the difference between "certificates" and "degrees." An accredited program will be offering two-year (RHIT) and/or four-year (RHIA) degrees.  Central Business School is not accredited; however, we are licensed by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth to provide certificate training programs to students throughout the world.

Central Business School certificate programs provide career training for medical office workers, medical coders and  billers, and medical transcriptionists. Many schools and colleges throughout the country offer certificate programs. Medical office, coding, billing, transcription, and other medical-related certificates are valuable to health information employers.

HOW DO I CHOOSE BETWEEN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS?

To help with the decision-making process between a certificate program and a degree program, consider the costs and the availability of courses.

If desired, take a phone survey of hospitals and medical offices in your area and ask if they will be interested in interviewing and testing you if you successfully complete the described Central Business School programs.

Be knowledgeable about the CCA (Certified Coding Associate), the CCS (Certified Coding Specialist-Hospital) and the CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician) national credentials offered by AHIMA.  Let employers know your long-term goal is to obtain an AHIMA credential.

WHAT MAKES CENTRAL BUSINESS SCHOOL DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS ON THE INTERNET?
