WWW, Marquette, MI--Students gathered to breathe together tonight at 8:00 pm ET around the world to wish for Oprah reception of 'A New Earth' live web cast week 2.  Tonight's live web event of Oprah's well-received 'A New Earth' free worldwide web course with Eckhart Tolle ran pretty smoothly.

We experienced a little bit of fuzziness and a few tiny delays, but Oprah's livecast tonight ran much better than last Monday.

"Chapter Two, Ego: The Current State of Humanity" of Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose, was discussed.  We especially enjoyed the 10 seconds of silence shared by all in attendance. 

Next highlight was awake 13-year-old Madilynn on the phone from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.  Madilynn read aloud Eckhart's words on page 47: "Intense wanting that has no specific object can often be found in the still-developing ego of teenagers, some of whom are in a permanent state of negativity and dissatisfaction."

Then Madilynn asked, "By stating this, are you implying that teenagers cannot be awakened?; that, although I am reading this book, I may have no chance in reaching consciousness, merely because I'm 13, and my ego is not fully developed?"

Eckhart replied, "I would not have been able to read or understand that book when I was 13."  He added: "There is a new generation growing up and there are more youngsters now than before who may not have to go through the extreme egoic delusion that we had to go through in our generation.  And you may be one of them."

Eckhart repeated his main message during the web cast, when he said, "The thing that is of absolutely prime importance in our lives is the present moment."

"Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness.  How do you know this is the experience you need?  Because this is the experience you are having at this moment." (page 41)

"And what is the 'kingdom of heaven'? The simple but profound joy of Being that is there when you let go of identifications and so become 'poor in spirit.'" (page 43)
