Spring Carnival Soars at Marquette Mountain

Marquette, MI--Encircled in shamrocks and green beads this weekend for Spring Carnival at Marquette Mountain, elite riders--including skiers, boarders, and even cyclists--will perform soaring feats of skillful, and spine-chilling, playful radiance.

The favored Spring Carnival Slush Cup Sunday afternoon inspires participants and a large spectator crowd. How these brave souls charge down the hill into that long deep trench of icy-cold slushy snowy water is beyond us. Watching them dive down into the slush over and over if they lose skis or board drives the crowd to loud ooohs and ooowhs--and to mighty cheers when the athletes pop up triumphantly. Of course, the goal is to "ride on water" all the way across, but only the experienced elite few--male and female--achieve this victory. When they do, it's a celebration for all.

These kids must know they can do anything! And we all agree they can and do!
